Antitrust/competition law has developed into a centerpiece of our practice.

Our antitrust team plays an integral role in handling M&A projects, restructurings and various corporate reorganizations, including in connection with IPOs, Eurobond issuances and private placements, etc. Our lawyers have handled the largest M&A transactions in Ukraine and are recognized for their innovative approach, proficiency and special industry expertise.

For example, we have handled the only merger clearance in Ukraine where the combined market share of the parties exceeded 35%, series of simultaneous merger filings for multinational oil and gas company where the review period was less than 9 working days, among many other. The Firm regularly assists major multinationals in structuring and implementing compliance programmes, including by conducting audits and trainings for Ukrainian subsidiaries.

Some of the Firm’s international clients for antitrust work include Alpha Bank, Amadeus, Arcapita, Central European Media Enterprises (CME), Coca-Cola, Evraz, Generali, Japan Tobacco, Metalloinvest, Phillip Morris, Porsche, Severstal, Société Générale, and Western Union.

Building on our strong working relationships with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and other Ukrainian regulators, we play an important role in shaping local competition agenda. One of the Firm’s lawyers has served as a senior official for the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for many years and is recognized as one of the principal authors of the Competition Act (2001) and the majority of other laws and regulations in the competition law area.
