Svitlana Kheda is a counsel with the firm heading its labor/employment law practice.
Experience
Svitlana has over 14 years of experience in advising clients on a wide range of complex issues in the area of labor/employment law, personal data protection, public-private partnerships (PPP) and anti-corruption legislation.
In particular, she is responsible for developing local corporate personal data protection (PDP) legislation compliance programs and preparing PDP policies and template PDP contract provisions and other PDP documentation.
Svitlana also specializes in bringing global employment policies and procedures of transnational companies in compliance with Ukrainian law, including adjusting the global corporate policies, prepared in accordance with the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act 2010, to the Ukrainian anti-corruption legislation. Her areas of practice include corporate law and M&A, international commercial transactions, alternative dispute resolution and foreign investment matters.
Svitlana Kheda is an arbitrator of the ICC Ukraine ADR Service. She is a certified mediator heading the ICC Ukraine Mediation Centre experienced in employment mediation. Ms. Kheda is also a member of the Expert Council of the Ukrainian State Personal Data Protection Service and is a co-head of the ICC Ukraine’s PDP working group.
Legislative Drafting
Svitlana Kheda actively participates in the legislative drafting and adjustment of the Ukrainian legislation to the international standards. For instance, currently, Svitlana is heading a parliamentary working group on amending the Law of Ukraine “On the Public-Private Partnership” and is an expert in several PPP legislation working groups. She has been actively involved in drafting amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”.
Svitlana’s professional experience includes running the Programs Department of the International Law Institute (Washington, DC, U.S.A.), where, in particular, she contributed to developing and taught the training seminars “PPP in Infrastructure”, “Anti-Corruption”, “Legislative Drafting”, “Arbitration and Mediation” and “Foreign Investment Agreements and Investor-State Dispute Settlement”. Ms. Kheda’s experience also includes working for a leading international law firm in Ukraine, and supervising the HR department of one of Ukraine’s biggest garment factories.

Svitlana is an author of the chapter on Ukraine published in The Employment Law Review, Third Edition, providing an overview of the labor legislation in 48 jurisdictions.
